If you’ve been living under a rock and have wondered what all the KEEP JUMBO WILD bumper stickers are about… or if you’re a longtime Jumbo supporter, then you wont want to miss  JUMBO WILD.

Local director Nick Waggoner and Sweetgrass Productions are famous for creating ski movies with depth. And now they’ve put their creative efforts into this  gripping doc that recounts the decades-long battle over the future of British Columbia’s iconic Jumbo Valley – hIghlighting the tension between the protection of wilderness and the backcountry experience and ever-increasing development interests in wild places. Set against a backdrop of incredible backcountry ski and snowboard footage, Jumbo Wild documents all sides of a divisive issue bringing the passionate local fight to protect the Jumbo Valley to life for the first time.

As Sweetgrass says: “this film exposes the constant battle to preserve our environment. It shows how we value the land and why we care deeply for our “wild gardens”.

Four friends, 13 wild mustangs, and an epic 3,000-mile journey through the most pristine backcountry of the American West, to raise awareness of the wild mustangs on BLM lands in the USA. They rode an almost contiguous stretch of unspoiled public lands, border to border, from Mexico to Canada…landing east of Creston.

A few years back FLIKS contributed to their kickstarter campaign to help make this journey and film a reality. Good on ya for accomplishing your dream!

(now that these screenings are over, we’d like to thank you the audience for coming out to see UNbranded. Nice to see fellow horsey-people at FLiKS)
